Se bare her!
My exhibition page for the course is now done. They really did a wonderful job at presenting my work. There are so many excellent quilters presented on the gallery pages that I feel rather small in comparison. You will find it here.

Prosjekter på gang
Several half finished projects are now waiting to be finished. My New Years Resolution must be to work at one project at a time... Merete's Mystery Chistmas Quilt has been pieced together, another table runnner made of remnants from the large quilt is waiting to be quilted, I have
hand painted some new fabrics
and the calendar gifts are wrapped and ready to be hung on the calendar. At work, Anette suggested that we should have a Christmas calendar, so yesterday I made hearts of red felt and gingham. We will write our names on the hearts, and draw one each day (we are 21 persons in our hallway, good number for the calendar!). The gifts (chocholate!) will be hung on a branch, and replaced with the heart after we have done the drawing. I hope she knows how to do this!

Snufs...
Men noen ganger får man bare kapitulere.
...having a cold is not much fun. It is a long time since I last had a cold, and rarely am I so "under the weather" that I cannot go to work. My friends at work told me to take a few days off after the FIRST LEGO weekend - I should have listened to them! Fortunately I am not too sick to be creative, though. It is time to think Christmas projects, so I looked though some odd pieces of fabrics laying in a pile. I hade used a piece of black fabric to demonstrate stencilling and rubbing with Shiva Paintstiks and foiling. And Voila! The fabric I had almost thrown away was turned into 5 cards.

Leken Jack i høstsol
The weather is fantastic today! Only at this time of the year can the air seem as clear as glass. The sky is bright blye, the mountains are covered with snow, and there is frost on the grass. Jack and I are home from work today - he has problems with his tummy (too much chicken) and I have a cold. As he had to go outside for an errand, I took the camera along. What a great joy to roll in the grass!

Ferdig - finished - finito :-)

I
have finally finished the second assessment for the course. Today I took pictures of the quilt, wrote a short evaluation about the project, calculated both time and materials, and sent it all by email to my teacher Catherine Nicholls. Now all I have to do is to wait and see if it is approved, and if I have sent enough information to receive my "7822-10 Level 2 Patchwork and Quilting Certificate" from the City and Guilds of London. The course has taken me 11 months, and it has been a wonderful and fun time - I have learned so much about both the craft and about design by receiving very inspiring feedbacks and messages from the teacher. Thank you, Catherine! I will probably start the next course right after Christmas!
It is fun to see what started out as some white fabric and dye powder ended up as a large and colourful quilt.

Last weekend I spent 20 hours at work. On Saturday we hosted FIRST LEGO League Tournament (http://www.firstlegoleague.org/) at Ålesund University College, with 20 teams and 450 children participating. In addition, there were parents and siblings present as spectators. We guess we had approximately 1200 people there. The sound was loud, the activity level was intense, and everybody were doing a great effort in the tournament. When the weekend was over, we were rather exhausted - but also very pleased :-) At the same time,
33 other Scandinavian cities arranged the same tournament, and world wide there were 11.000 teams participating in FLL.

Utstilling
At the moment I have 10 quilts exhibited at the Dairy in Ålesund. One of the "12 things before 50" things is to participate in 3 to 5 exhibitions/challenges, so this is a step along the way. Some of the quilts are a few years old, while others are new.

Quilting...
...a large quilt takes time. Why on earth did I make a giant queen-size quilt when it was up to me what to make? I always end up making large projects. Is it because I am a rather small person and must compensate by making large things? The quilt is soon finished, right now I am quilting the border, us
A terrible thing happened, though! Mr. Janome started to make
