I was home alone this weekend - the kids were at their dad's (that is, jr was in Trondheim on a course and the young miss was eitherworking or with her darling) and I really was in the mood for some close company. Did I ever feel sorry for myself - until I decided to make this into a creative and productive weekend! It is not often that I can work on my sewing machine in my livingroom late at night on weekends! And I have done a lot! And allowed myself to play a little with my house!
... and on Saturday there was a surprice in the mailbox from a good friend - Ulf Lundell's latest cd, so that I had something new to listen to when I was all alone :-) The weekend turned out to be a good one after all!
Produksjonsrapport:
Gjorde ferdig nytt Mia-skjerf som min eldste datter hadde bestilt...
Finished another Mia-scarf that my oldest daughter wanted me to make her...
... and sewed together the beret that my mother wanted as an early birthday present...
... did some homework and learned some new techniques - as here where I have bleached fabric with chlorine...
... I have been doing transfer printing from paper to fabric, making different designs by transferring layer upon layer upon layer...
... både blomster og firkanter...
... flowers as well as squares...
... the runner from last blog-posting is finished :-) I quilted it with variegated thread (thank you for the advice, QuilteLine! in a curlicue pattern to soften the straight lines and angles of the blocks...
... and I finished an UFO that had been waiting for more than a year. It is really a sample that I made before making my final assessment for the first C&G course.
... the toilet was still looking like when we moved in a year ago, and it was rather dingy. I suddently decided that while waiting for the grand prize from the lottery to turn up in order to redo the room completely, I could at least make it a bit more livelier :-) Everything I used were leftovers from last sping, so it was a cheap makeover...
... det skulle ikke så mye til! Nå sier det "Pang! Farger!" når vi går inn på rommet :-)
... it did not take a lot! Now it says "Bang! Colours!" when we enter the room :-)
... and the floor is something I am proud of, hopefully the paint will stay on for a while. The idea of using a zink tub for the toiletpaper came from an interior magazine - but there both the bathroom and the tub were MUCH bigger...
